The National Youth Orchestra Festival 2025 is a gathering of musicians age 8 to 28 playing violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, French horn, tuba and percussion.
The theme this year is ‘Storytelling through music’, and the main item on the programme is the world premiere of ‘Otjihambarere’ by Eslon Hindundu – a Namibian fairytale using a story written by Namibian children.
